Perhaps the attraction of the US Right to Catholicism is that the Catholic Church is almost the only’ western’ institution where all the thinking and decision making is done by men (assuming that Iran and Afghanistan are not included). That reflects their comments about what Yale, Oxford and other universities ‘used to be’ - before they were taken over by people who couldn’t be confused with CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien (US versions are available). Plus they get to dress up without anyone saying they are the KkK.

Here’s another posit.

JD Vance has an audience with pope Francis. Two days later the latter passes.

New pope is… Murican.

States Francis chose him, yet dresses in full papal decorum.

Strings pulled…?

Oh my, the implications that would bring in its sillage…

Somehow tis all reminds me of Starwars (the film)…

Now what is this here pen implying, or is it merely inferring…?

Blasphemous thoughts?

Really?

Reality often surpasses fiction…

Ye canna really be thinking that,.. Nah.

Or can ye…

Am i the only one?

Ye tell me… (3 little dots)

I was a Catholic until I was 27 when I decided that religion was for man, not man for religion. Thus Divorce, Birth Control and Abortion were for the happiness of mankind and not for the orthodoxy of religion. Then, at the age of 50, I suddenly arrived at a conclusion that there was no substantial evidence of the existence of God. Everything in Christianity was based on the four books of the New Testament, the source of which was as insubstantial as the belief that people who are dead can come alive again. Then I have to look at the Conclave selecting a new Pope and wonder why men as intelligent as Pius XIV still believe in the immaculate conception and the virgin birth. It seems impossible to anyone who is prepared to question the impossibility of these beliefs as based on facts.

Mayhaps tis yer made up mind that is flawed by shortsightedness. Just because ye deem it impossible does not automatically make it thus. 'Impossible' is not English and for there to be Two a One needs first be. That latter assertion is not religious nor dogmatic in nature, coming from this here pen, tis merely and very plainly so just mathematical.

Tis all a question of 0s and 1s.

Yes,indeed, a One. Now if that One were to meet another One then it could enter into a state of friction which could result in more Ones made… and if reality were to be one vast expanse of an experiment then its Maker(s) know(s) not of its final outcome and is (are) just as excited over the prospects inherent to its culmination(s) as it could all be a multitude of experiments too…

Yeah, waddaye(we)know… have fun!

lots of laughter.

There is no doubt that atheism is shortsighted as it cannot see beyond reason. Most of the prophets were spoken to by what they thought was God. St Augustine was asked how he knew that God was talking to him. He replied “ he shouts in my ear”. Most of the prophets had similar revelations and most religions used these revelations to guide their actions. I believe they were simply more in tune with the times than their contemporaries. We badly need a prophet now to guide us through these tempestuous seas.

Everything this humanity ever needed to know has already been communicated. Whoever those voices might’ve belonged to they have said their piece and are done.

Now humanity shall just have to wade out of its self made muck on its own.

Recalcitrant adolescent specie that it be.

Come on, in the past the British have always been lucky to have the right man in the right place. Churchill, Wellington, Clive of India, Mountjoy in Ireland. I accept that those lucky days may be over and all we can hope for is Starmer and Macron but it doesn’t stop me wishing we were as lucky now as we were in the past.

Oh, but I was not alluding to any enlightened British mortals of times long past. May they rest in peace.

I meant the Invisible Ear-Whisperers. The One or the Multitude of Ones.

Nuance.

That stated, yes, mediocrity seems by and large to have become the new norm. There is not one single politician worth the proverbial salt across the whole of the political spectrum. Be it Macronleonito or Von der Wotshergulliver, Strappin’ Starmer, mezzo Merz, to Trumplilocks, etcetera, etcetera, F-in etcetera..,

It is an all-round (as in global) sorry state of affairs. (The pathos!)

Just goes to prove, an education in political sciences does not a great politician make.

Cannot stand that Ukrainian actor either.

So aie, agreed. One Prophet pretty please… but of a higher cosmic mettle already.
